How to Build a Grill Out of a 55-gallon DrumIf you have ever considered how to build a grill out of a 55-gallon drum, here are some simple directions:

 

  • take a 55 gallon drum and mark it off in quarters using masking tape
  • cut out one of the quarters using a hacksaw (this will become your grill’s lid)
  • weld some angle iron in a rectangular shape to the grill’s oil drum for support.
  • tack down a piece of metal mesh to the grill to act as your grilling space.
  • If you want to add legs to your grill, use two pieces of 1×2 steel
